Springs Retreat was built by the Tilden family as a first home for their daughter Danielle, and is located a 1/4 mile from the main house in the woods. Everything that you see in and around Springs Retreat is a direct result of the hard work of a member of the family including the fieldstone retaining walls, the shelving in the bedroom, the kitchen cupboards, and even the bathroom door!

The Tilden’s used local materials, often taken from the build site itself, for the construction of the cabin. The water supply is derived from a natural spring on the property, so the tap and rainfall shower both provide clean, clear spring water delivered by gravity alone.

Springs Retreat was completed in the Spring of 2002, and it served as Danielle’s cozy home until the opening of Springs Retreat in 2007. Time moves on, and Danielle has too, leaving the cabin for others who share her love of solitude and the natural world.
